founded in 1967 to promote the growth of amateur youth and adult tennis,
particularly for the benefit of the underprivileged, throughout the

What is CTPA? |
The Charlottesville Tennis Patrons Association (CTPA) accomplishes its
mission by supporting and organizing free and low-cost tennis programs and
events, including the Roger Flint Mobile Tennis Program, the Jefferson
Junior Tennis League, the Winter Excellence Program, After School tennis
programs for elementary and middle school kids, QuickStart Tennis training
for elementary school PE teachers, and others.
CTPA also functions as a “clearinghouse” to promote tennis lessons,
clinics, and tournaments offered by other clubs, schools, parks and
recreation departments, grassroots organizations, UVa, and the USTA.

- QuickStart Tennis - Introduction to tennis for kids.
- Sutherland Middle School Tennis Club - After school
program.
- Roger Flint Mobile Tennis - A free summer program teaching
tennis fundamentals to city and county youths.
- CTPA Winter Excellence Program for promising youths.
- Tournament - Downtown Athletic Store/Julian
King Memorial Tournament at ACAC.
- Jefferson Jr. Tennis League - Competition and fun for
youth, ages 8-18.
- Roger Flint Spirit Award - Given annually to a junior
tennis player participating in the Jefferson Junior League, and who most exemplifies the
spirit of competition, hard work, and sportsmanship.
